So, Activity Week 2014 is over…  but NEVER FEAR!  The ‘AW Reunion‘ is just around the corner! And what’s even better is that we are referring to it as the BIG Night In  We’ll be having a bit of a film-night with pizza to reunite you with your friends from Activity Week, and there’ll be some of the leaders from the week there too! Arena is the name given to our schoolswork program. Sometimes it can seem that we just go into schools, repeat the same lessons over-and-over, day-in day-out, and that we don’t seem to make a difference, so we decided to get some feedback from staff about the work we do.  Here’s some of the feedback that we’ve had from some local RE Staff, following a stint in their school: “The YFC team delivered interactive and fun lessons to Keys Stage 3 and 4 across the timetable.”“The Year 9s enjoyed a game in which they were able to empathise with those in LEDCs, the pupils were engaged and interested throughout, both enjoying the activity and understanding how unfair the world economic system is.”“The team of old and new faces were both professional and well informed throughout the week.”“The students enjoyed a variety of lessons delivered by a professional team who clearly cared about the students needs.” I’m sure you’ll agree that this makes Trafford YFC stand out as a professional charity, with a strong team...

  #CDM10k  #ChallengeDave  #GreatManchesterRun On Sunday 18th May, the BUPA Great Manchester Run took place, and Dave was one of the 40,000 runners attending.  He was running to raise money for Trafford Youth For Christ, and managed to complete the 10 kilometre  route around Manchester City Centre in 1:16:16. Dave talks about the run. –  “I’m really pleased with my time as it was my first competitive run and I’d only been training for a few weeks… it was a really hot day and I’d not managed to train in such hot conditions – typical Manchester weather… I’d been ill the week running up to the race, and was still suffering a bit on the day, itself.” What was going through your mind during the run? – “I started the run with a prayer.  I didn’t know what to pray for though – I didn’t want to be arrogant, but I wanted to pray seriously, not just a quick ‘oh, I’d better pray’ sort of prayer.  We’ve been taking some lessons in Sale Grammar over the...
