NOMAD are coming to Trafford

On Sunday 25th June, Trafford YFC are being joined by NOMAD – a cage football team, teaching football skills whilst sharing their faith.  The team of four have a jam-packed week of taking lessons in local Primary and Secondary schools, as well as attending several evening events at local churches. Throughout their week they’ll be working in/with Ashton-on-Mersey High School, Broadoak School, Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College, St. Mary’s Primary School, Wellacre Academy, Altrincham Baptist Church, Sale West Community Centre, St. Alban’s Church, St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, the Methodist Circuit, and of course, Trafford YFC. During the day on Saturday 1st July, they will be running an open event just outside our office (The Church Hall, Lindsell Road. WA14 5NX).  As they are only here in Trafford for a short while, we’d love for you to come along and see them in action, and maybe even have a go in the cage while you’re here! 😉  We are inviting all of the young people we meet throughout the week, as well as other youthworkers, teachers, church leaders, etc. so it should be a bustling event. You can...

Meet Theresa

Meet Theresa

Hello, I’m Theresa (‘Tee’ for short).  I’m on a placement with Trafford YFC for 6 months as part of my ‘Youth & Community Work with Practical Theology’ course with ‘CYM’.  I love working alongside young people, seeing them grow into everything God has called them to be.  I love coffee, foreign films, and popping bubble-wrap.  You can find out a little more about me by watching my introductory video by clicking here.  Thanks 🙂 Meet the rest of the...

Resources That TYFC Offer

Resources That TYFC Offer

Whether you’re at school or college, in your church youth-group or friendship group, or you just want to find out more about what it means to be a Christian in today’s world, TYFC offers a wide range of resources to help.  At TYFC, we have access to resources that are aimed at young people from 11 to 21+, and this is just a sample of what we have in store. If you know a young person who is starting out on their Christian journey, we can help introduce Christian values and look at the building blocks of Christianity (using the tried and tested ROCK SOLID or LUMEN materials).  We can help in discussing and tackling the difficult questions that all Christians will have wrestled with at some point too (using the very popular ALPHA course). You may have already made a commitment, and want to take the next step on your journey.  If so, we can look at enabling you with ideas on how to evangelise to your friends (using the METTLE material), or we can help you to explore how...

Meet Hayley

Meet Hayley

Hi, I’m Hayley.  I thought I would take a couple of minutes to introduce myself, as I am new to the Trafford YFC team! A bit about me… I am originally from Leicester (“me duck!”) and for the last eight years, worked as a full time youth worker for the charity Reality Youth Project.  I moved to Manchester in April 2014 after getting married to Joe. Why youth work… Youth Work is my passion. I really believe that God gives us the desires of our hearts and youth work or simply young people are something that He has put on mine!  Moving to Manchester was a massive change and I had no idea what I was going to do for a job.  After months of unsuccessfully searching for a job, I had resigned myself to being a full time house-wife!  However, God had other ideas, and I couldn’t be happier!  I am so excited to get stuck in to the life of TYFC and am looking forward to seeing...
