Meet the Team
Dave Atkinson – Centre Director
“I’m Dave. I’ve been working for Trafford YFC since late 2008 as the Youth & Schools Worker, before being promoted to Director in early 2014. I joined the YFC family way back in 2002 on a Gap-Year with National YFC’s Creative Arts team, ‘Activate’, and used to volunteer at events with Trafford YFC, so have been involved with YFC for over 15 years.
I’m married to Emma, and we have a daughter and a son. I can be a bit of a coffee-snob, and love Starbucks (other coffee brands are available). I love thinking creatively, and making promotional videos. I want to expand the work of TYFC, reaching more young people with the Gospel, and I would love to set up a more sustainable Mentoring programme.”
Matt Courtney – Youth and Schools Worker
“Hello, I’m Matt. I have been working for Trafford YFC since September 2015. I have a degree in ‘Theology in Mission’. I am passionate about seeing young people realising their true identity in Christ, and re-shaping their communities for the better through their love and faith. I have also taken on a couple of youthworker positions at local churches as part of my role with TYFC.
I am married to Becky, a Childrens’ Worker at another local church, and we are originally from Liverpool. I love music, theology, football, and always making the most of every opportunity to have a good time.“
Jill Webb – Fundraiser
“Hi, I’m Jill, and I’m delighted to be working for TYFC after being aware of their work and impact locally for a number of years. I have mainly always worked in an admin role but my work experience also includes being a Cabin Crew member and a Teaching Assistant, as I love interacting with people. I’ve been involved with youth and young people in groups at church for a number of years as I’ve always had a heart for young people and their development.
I love family life with my husband, Richard, and our daughter. I know TYFC will give me an opportunity to grow in my journey with God and an opportunity to extend my skills whilst I support the organisation in my role to fulfil God’s plan and vision to take the Good News relevantly to young people in Trafford.”
Tabitha Langkamer – Evolve Team (YFC:One)
“Hey, I’m Tabitha! I’ve come from Canada to do a gap year with YFC:One in Trafford. I love art, reading and singing. I also enjoy spending some free time watching my favourite TV shows and movies.
I am so excited for this opportunity to serve God this year! I can’t wait to connect with the young people in Trafford and help them learn and grow in their faith. I’m excited to work with the ‘Eden Partington’ team as well, helping with their local programs. I’m really looking forward to what God has in store for me and how he’ll help me grow!”
Victoria Collins – Evolve Team (YFC:One)
“Hello my name is Victoria and I’m from Scotland. I’m doing a gap year with TYFC.
My hobbies are dancing, listening to music, playing the piano, and I love doing youth work! I also love to travel! Earlier this year I got to go out to Lebanon to volunteer in a refugee camp, and it was the best experience ever!
The things I’m most looking forward to this year is connecting with the young people around Trafford, and growing and connecting with God. I’m really excited to be going into schools and helping teach the young people about faith and God. I’m also really excited to be able to go to a new church and see what God has planned for me there, and I’m super excited to see how much I grow during this gap year.”
Stefano Gould – Evolve Team (YFC:One)
“Hi I’m Stefano. I’m joining Trafford YFC this year as part of my YFC:One gap year. I really enjoy sports and do a lot of football, rugby, and athletics.
I finished my A-levels June 2016, studying Biology, Psychology, and Italian. Since then I have spent 6 months in Uganda with BMS world mission, where I worked in a Juvenile Detention Centre and at a local church. It was an incredible experience and God really inspired me there to try and get more involved in what He’s doing round the world, and that’s why I decided to join YFC.”
The Executive Committee:
As a charity we are managed by an Executive Committee which oversees the work we do. The committee is made up of people from local churches who are willing to give some of their time to moving forward the work of the centre and seeing our mission statement fulfilled.
